From the great state of Texas, Craig attended Marcus High School in Flower Mound, just outside of Dallas, prior to the University of Texas at Austin. While with the Longhorns, Craig earned four USTFCCCA All-American honors and placed third and fourth in the 2013 and 2015 NCAA championship 10,000m. He also earned Academic All-Big 12 honors while graduating with a degree in Sport Management and a minor in Business.
Craig’s interest in running started at the age of 6 when he was introduced to a program called Marathon Kids. He spent most of his early years in the sport looking for Dallas area road races in the newspaper alongside his dad. His training consisted of racing every weekend until his father started the youth running club, Lake Cities. This young love for running turned Craig into one of the most dominant high school runners in the country. He won the 2009 Nike Cross Nationals title and earned a spot on Team USA at the IAAF World Cross Country championships in 2011, where he led the U.S. junior team with a 29th place finish.
When not running, Craig finds peace with reading, a quiet coffee shop, and the outdoor scene of Flagstaff and beyond. He is engaged to Meg Bellino, a former 2:06 collegiate half miler from Monroe, Michigan.
